Privacy policy
The Japan Sumo Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Association") establishes the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") regarding the handling of user information, including personal information, in the Japan Sumo Association Official Online Shop Service "SuMALL" (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") operated by the Association.
1. User Information Acquired by the Association
In this Policy, "User Information" refers to information provided by users in order to use the Service or through the use of the Service, as well as the following information collected in connection with access to the Service:

- (2) Date of birth
- (3) Gender
- (4) Information regarding occupation and other profile details
- (5) Email address
- (6) Phone number
- (7) Contact information such as address
- (8) Information regarding payment methods such as credit card information, bank account information, and electronic money information
- (9) Information entered or transmitted by users through input forms or other methods determined by the Association
- (10) Identifiers such as Cookies, and information regarding usage status such as access logs to the Service
2. Purposes of Use of Acquired User Information
The purposes of use of User Information are as follows:
- (1) To accept registrations, verify identity, authenticate users, and record user settings related to the Service
- (2) To provide guidance regarding the Service and to offer information on products, services, campaigns, etc., via email or other means
- (3) To ship products, process payments, and fulfill other obligations based on contracts between the user and the Association
- (4) To respond to, confirm, and record inquiries, support requests, etc., regarding the Service
- (5) To analyze user access, measure and analyze usage status, and to develop products and improve/enhance the Service
- (6) To address actions that violate the Association's terms, policies, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "Terms and Conditions, etc.") regarding the Service
- (7) To distribute and display advertisements
- (8) To notify users of changes, etc., to the Terms and Conditions, etc., regarding the Service
3. Use and Disabling of Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information or technologies stored on your computer, mobile device, tablet, etc., when you access the Service.
The Association utilizes "Google Analytics" provided by Google Inc. to achieve the purposes of use (access analysis, measurement and analysis of usage status, etc.).

4. Safety Management Measures
In order to properly manage User Information, the Association implements human, physical, and technical safety management measures as defined in the "Personal Information Regulations" established by the Association, and strives to prevent the leakage of User Information.
5. Provision to Third Parties
The Association will not provide personal information among User Information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the user. However, this does not apply to the following cases:
- (1) When the Association entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
- (2) When personal information is provided due to the succession of business resulting from a merger or other reasons
- (3) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an entity entrusted by them in executing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user's consent may impede the execution of such affairs
- (4) In other cases permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the "Personal Information Protection Act") or other laws and regulations
6. Entrustment to Overseas Operators
The Service is operated via an e-commerce platform (Shopify) provided by Shopify Commerce Singapore Pte. Ltd. and Shopify Inc. (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Shopify"). By visiting the e-commerce website related to the Service (hereinafter referred to as the "Site") and using the Service, Shopify will collect and handle your personal information, and may share the collected user name and email address with the Association. 7. Disclosure of Personal Information
When requested by a user to disclose their personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Association will disclose it to the user without delay after confirming that the request is made by the user themselves (if the personal information does not exist, the user will be notified to that effect). However, this does not apply if the Association is not obligated to disclose it under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws and regulations.
8. Correction, Deletion, and Cessation of Use of Personal Information
Regarding requests from users for the correction, deletion, or cessation of use of the content of their personal information, the Association will conduct the necessary investigation without delay after confirming that the request is made by the user themselves, and will perform the correction, deletion, or cessation of use based on the results.

10. Procedures for Amending the Privacy Policy
The Association will amend this Policy as necessary. In the event that this Policy is amended, the Association will announce the effective date and content of the amended Policy by displaying it on the Association's website or through other appropriate methods, or notify users directly.
This Policy shall enter into force on January 4, 2023.
